A Google Health Premium alternative that needs no Fitbit or Pixel Watch

Google Health Premium, called Fitbit Premium until May 2026, is built around Google Health Coach, an AI coach made with Gemini. Google says the coach works only with a Fitbit or a Pixel Watch. Flawless logs your food and your workouts on your Android phone or iPhone, free, with optional watch apps for Wear OS and Apple Watch, and its AI coach is part of PRO.

We make Flawless, so read this with that in mind. Every claim about Google Health links to Google’s own pages, and every claim about Flawless was checked against the app itself.

Fitbit Premium is now Google Health Premium

On 19 May 2026 the Fitbit app became the Google Health app, and Fitbit Premium became Google Health Premium (Google Health help). Premium now centres on Google Health Coach, “your personal health coach, built with Gemini”: you can ask it health questions at any time and get weekly fitness plans and workouts, sleep insights, proactive insights and summaries of your medical records, plus a workout library and mindfulness sessions (Google Store).

Google’s blog gives the price as “$9.99 per month or $99 per year”, and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers get Premium at no extra cost (Google blog). New or returning Google Account users are offered a 3-month trial after updating to the Google Health app (help). Those are US prices; they differ in other countries.

03

The catch: the coach needs a Fitbit or Pixel Watch

Google’s help centre is clear: “Google Health Coach and our Premium coaching features are currently available only to users who have a Fitbit or Pixel Watch device and are over the age of 18.” Premium is offered in a list of countries that includes the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Poland, and Google adds that content and features “may vary by device and may be in English only” (Google Health help).

So a Galaxy Watch, an Apple Watch or no watch at all is not enough for the coach. Without a connected Fitbit or Pixel Watch, Google says you see a focused version of the app with the Today and Health tabs (help).

Flawless asks for none of that. Everything is logged on your phone, and the watch apps are optional: one for Wear OS 3 and later, which includes the Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch4 and newer, and one for Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later. Both are free.

What is free in Flawless

What PRO adds

PRO costs from €7.49 a month or €54.99 a year, as of October 2026. The price depends on your country and its tax, and Google Play and the App Store show the final price before you buy. The yearly plan starts with a 14-day free trial.

05

Two AI coaches, compared

Both are AI coaches that read your own data, so the useful question is which data each one sees.

Google Health Coach builds on what your Fitbit or Pixel Watch measures, such as activity, sleep and heart rate. Google says it creates weekly fitness plans and adjusts them, explains your sleep and can summarise your medical records, and that it also creates strength workouts for your goals (Google Store, Pixel Watch 5).

The Flawless coach, in PRO, builds on what you log: the last 14 days of your food and your workouts, set by set. It can log a meal, water, your weight or a measurement for you, show a button to start your workout, and open the food scan or your diary. Steps, sleep and heart rate from Apple Health or Health Connect reach it only if you allow it. It answers in the language the app is set to, one of 16.

06

What Google Health does that Flawless does not

07

When Google Health Premium is the better choice

If you already wear a Fitbit or Pixel Watch and want one coach for sleep, recovery and fitness built on what the watch measures, Google Health Premium is made for that, and the 3-month trial lets you try it properly. If you pay for Google AI Pro or Ultra, it costs you nothing extra.

If you do not have a Fitbit or Pixel Watch, or you want a free food diary and a set-by-set gym log with a coach that reads both, Flawless fits better. Flawless does not need a particular watch, so you can also use both.
