The best workout tracker apps in 2026
Four apps come up again and again when people look for a workout tracker: Hevy, Strong, Fitbod and Flawless. They are built for different people, and the best one depends on what you want the app to do for you.
We make Flawless, so read this with that in mind. That is why every claim about the other apps comes from their own websites and help centres, checked on 25 September 2026, with links so you can verify it. Prices are left out: they differ by country and change.
Which one for whom
- You want the app to plan every session: Fitbod. It builds each workout from your goals, equipment and recovery.
- You want a free log with a social feed: Hevy. It has the biggest community of the four.
- You want the simplest possible log: Strong. A clean gym notebook and nothing more.
- You want training and food in one app: Flawless. A full workout log and a food log, with a suggestion for your next set.

“Not advertised” means the app does not present it on the pages we checked, not that it could never do it. Checked on 25 September 2026: Hevy Pro vs free, Hevy Trainer and features; Strong templates, Strong PRO and strong.app; Fitbod fitbod.me and how the trial works. The four apps in short
Hevy
A free workout log with a large social side: a feed, leaderboards and profiles you can follow. The free version keeps 4 routines and 3 months of history. Hevy Pro removes those limits and adds Hevy Trainer, which builds a program and tells you when to add weight and by how much. It has an Apple Watch app. It does not log food.
Strong
The plainest of the four, and many people like it for exactly that: log your sets, look at your charts, done. Free accounts keep up to 3 workout templates; Strong PRO adds unlimited templates, all charts and body measurements. It has an Apple Watch app. It does not advertise workout generation or food logging.
Fitbod
Built for people who do not want to plan. Its algorithm writes each workout from your goals, level, equipment and which muscles have recovered, and moves the weights as you progress. The catch: after a 7-day trial it needs a subscription to log new workouts. It does not log food.
Flawless
A full workout log and a food log in one app. Every exercise shows what you lifted last time and what to try today: add reps up to 12, then add weight and drop back to 8. A muscle-recovery map shows what is ready to train again. PRO adds an AI training plan built from your goal, level, days per week, session length, equipment and injuries, lowers the day’s suggestion when you are less recovered, and gives you an AI coach that reads training and food together. It is the newest of the four and has no social feed.
