How do you do Sit-Up?

Lie on your back with knees bent to about 90 degrees, feet anchored under something heavy, hands on your chest. Curl up one vertebra at a time until your torso is upright, exhaling on the way up. Lower slowly back to the floor; the way down is where most of the work is. Don't yank with the neck or throw the arms; if you can't get up without swinging, do crunches instead.
